About Me

I’m all about making you look good!

My Story

I am a photographer based in Tysons Corner, Virginia; just outside of Washington, D.C. My portfolio is diverse, but my focus is on wedding, engagement, portrait, and event photography. I love capturing special moments that tell a beautiful story in a unique and artistic way. My approach to photography is to build a personal relationship with my clients so that I can tailor each photograph to what they want!

I got into wedding and engagement photography simply because someone I didn’t know asked me to photograph their engagement and wedding. I considered that a huge honor, but also a huge opportunity to see if this would be a great fit for me and my approach to photography: capturing special and unique moments worth remembering. When I started working with this client, I knew that I needed to build a personal relationship that fostered a sense of trust. I also wanted them to know that they’re important and that I deeply and personally care a lot about them and their photographs. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the photographs, but it’s also about how I made them feel during those beautiful moments that I captured—memories. This is the treatment that every client deserves and that I am committed to serving. And now, I am super proud and hugely grateful to be able to call that client my friend.

In all honestly though, I never grew up wanting to be a photographer. For me it was never really a big deal; maybe because I always hated being in front of the camera (haha). I did enjoy being behind the camera capturing certain moments and scenes though, but it never really inspired me to deeply pursue it.

It wasn’t until my first summer studying architecture at GSAPP where we had to create a vegetable container (my container was for corn) and photograph it. Well the next day after I emailed my photos to my critic, she responded back with “phenomenal.” She was very tough to impress, so hearing that just changed my world. At the end of the program she told me that if I decide not to go into architecture then I definitely have a career in photography.

The next summer, I took six weeks off to study architecture again, but this time at GSD. This was where photography got a huge boost of importance for me. It was here where I learned that, as opposed to just capturing a moment or a scene, I now wanted to provide my viewers with an artistically unique photograph with a camera that was capable of showing the amount of high-quality work that goes into each photo.

These experiences led me down a path where I now believe that every photo should yield a memorable experience with exceptional results. It is through a photograph where art meets reality and memories remain treasured. What I love about photography is that moment when your world becomes muted as you stare deeply and imagine being in the world that’s staring you back.

My Favorite Quote

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
