T.A. Tieri’s “Uneven” Event Photos - Book Signing Event
When Tiwa asked me to photograph her book signing event I was super excited! I love photographing events! They’re so much fun to do because you get to enjoy the event with everyone and capture a memorable story for the client to fondly look back on. Of course this being Tiwa’s book signing event I so had to read her book before photographing it. Had I not read her book I would have just felt weird and completely out of place. So when Tiwa’s book finally came out I went out and bought my copy right away.

Tiwa’s debut book Uneven is such an incredible story! To put this into perspective, I’m not big into reading fiction. I don’t think I’ve read a fictional book since I was in the Army, back in 2006. But when I started reading Uneven I was instantly hooked! Like pictures, books have to grab and hold your attention. They need to transport you into the world that you’re seeing and reading. And let me tell you Tiwa’s book does just that and so much more! I seriously could not put her amazing book down.
The story that Tiwa created, gently and comfortably wraps you within the main character’s world—you really don’t want to leave that fictional world. You want this fictional world to consume your everyday life. And the level of detail that Tiwa put into her book does just that. It transcends you out of reality.

So Tiwa’s book signing event took place in a yoga studio in Vienna, VA, called Body Grace Fitness & Yoga; so naturally yoga was involved. No it didn’t require yoga pants, yoga mats, yoga blocks, or yoga knowledge of any sort. It was just a nice way for people to relax before Tiwa made her debut. Once everyone became more relaxed from doing a few yoga exercises, Tiwa read a few pages from her book and had a Q&A session with a fellow writer. Event guests also got to ask Tiwa some questions. Then the focus turned to me to photograph the event guests with Tiwa while she signed everyone’s book. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres were served as well, which brought casual conversations with fellow readers and of course with Tiwa herself.
Tiwa, you’re so amazing! Thank you so so much for letting me capture your amazing event. It truly complemented your amazing book. I so can’t wait for your next book now!
