So my sister moved to DC with my two nieces and brother-in-law last year and asked me if I could do some family portraits for them. Of course I told my sister absolutely not, just because brothers need to do that for some reason, but of course I was excited to do that—just don’t tell my sister that. My brother-in-law, Hans, is a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army and thankfully he got stationed at Fort Belvoir, VA. It’s awesome finally having family that lives nearby!

Being new to DC they were super open to taking the family portraits anywhere. So of course I said let’s do Old Town Alexandria! With that rustic charm and historic wow factor, it was perfect for family portraits.

We started at the Waterfront Park to get some beautiful shots with the Potomac River in the background and then we just kinda just stayed in the area as we were just having too much fun. Which of course we forgot to do an outfit change unfortunately…bummer! We ended the shoot at the Wilkes Street Tunnel, which is a super attractive site for engagement and portrait photography.
